The JS3 rudder pedals are designed to accommodate the largest possible shoe. Therefore the pedals are angled to move more parallel with the fuselage nose section near the pedals. JS designed two differently shaped footplates to be attached to the rudder pedals: Type 1 and Type 2.
Reports have been received that the Type 1 rudder pedal plates create uncomfortable feet support for certain pilots, creating a pressure point on the side of the feet. The Type 2 rudder pedal plates with a reduced toe-out angle reduce the strain on the feet noticeably.
